Train smarter. Race faster.

Pacer builds your race block week by week — then rewrites it from what you actually ran. Readiness from HRV and sleep, paces from your real splits, and a plan that never lets you peak on the wrong day.

Built by a runner, for runners. No ads, no trackers, no data resale — ever.
Pacer dashboard: programme status at 94% of a 16-week block, the Strava connection, and today's session on a green card.

The loop

Five screens.
One feedback loop.

Every run you finish changes the next one. Pacer closes the loop between what you planned, what your body did, and what comes next. These are the real screens — no marketing renders.

01 — Set the target

Pick a race. Get the whole block.

5K, 10K, Half or Marathon. Choose the distance and the window, mark the days you can actually run, and Pacer periodises the rest — base, build, peak, taper, right down to race week.

  • Don't know your paces? Enter one recent race and we derive threshold, VO₂ and easy zones.
  • Every week gets a focus and a full schedule. Hold and drag to move a session.
  • Runs, rides and cross-training all count toward the block.
02 — Open the app

One card tells you what today is.

Programme status, how far through the block you are, and today's session on a card you can't miss. Strava sits right there, connected and synced.

  • Distance completed against distance planned, live as the day goes on.
  • Today's forecast on the card, so you know before you look outside.
  • Last week's recap one tap away, with everything the plan changed.
03 — Read the body

Load and readiness, side by side.

Acute-to-chronic load on a single dial — under 0.8 you're detraining, over 1.3 you're gambling. Next to it, a readiness score built from your own 30-day baseline for HRV, sleep and resting heart rate.

  • “Sleep 6h47 — below your usual 7h38.” Every point deducted comes with its reason.
  • Resting HR spiking well over baseline reads as illness and caps the day.
  • Planned against realised for running, cycling, sessions and recovery — this week at a glance.
04 — Run it right

Every session, structured and briefed.

Warm-up, work block, cool-down, with distance, pace and duration targets and a plain-English description of what the session is actually for.

  • Hourly temperature, wind, rain and UV for the day of the session.
  • A verdict you can act on — good conditions, or pick a sheltered route.
  • Push the whole thing to your Apple Watch and it runs itself.
05 — Grade the effort

What you actually did, matched to the plan.

Activities arrive from Strava, match themselves to the planned session, and get graded. Route, distance, duration, average pace, average heart rate — and a completion figure against what was asked.

  • Block detection reads your laps, so a 6×800 isn't averaged into mush.
  • Splits, elevation, heart-rate drift and pace-vs-HR decoupling, per session.
  • Share any activity as a card rendered in Pacer's own type.

Everywhere you train

It follows you off the phone.

Wrist, lock screen, home screen, notification centre. The plan shows up where you actually need it.

Apple Watch, natively

Today's session on your wrist with the full step structure, live charts, and the workout waiting in Exercise → Plans. No phone required.

Widgets & Live Activity

Today's workout and your weekly chart on the home screen. Start a run and it takes over the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island until you're done.

Strava, two-way

Activities land automatically via webhook and match themselves to the planned session — laps, splits, heart rate, route and all. Nothing to tick off by hand.

The best window

Hourly temperature, wind, rain and UV for the day of each session, and a recommendation for the two hours that will hurt least.

Notifications with a point

A nudge if the session's still unrun at 6pm. A heads-up when the plan adapts. A morning warning when readiness drops. Nothing else.

Private by construction

Health data stays on device and in your own iCloud. No ad SDKs, no analytics resale, no third-party trackers. Sync across devices is yours alone.

On your calendar

Push the block into Apple Calendar so your training sits next to the rest of your life — and you stop scheduling a 3-hour long run against a 9am meeting.

Share cards worth posting

Your route rendered in Pacer's own type — full stats or route-only. Built for the story, not for a watermark.

Metric or imperial

Kilometres or miles, °C or °F, fully localised. Pacer speaks English and French out of the box.

Why we built it
“Generic plans assume a perfect week. Real training is a bad night's sleep, a work trip, and a session you nailed harder than you were meant to. Pacer plans for that week.”

Maxime · Pacer, founder & test subject

Before you ask

Straight answers.

Do I need Strava?
No, but it's where Pacer gets its sharpest data. With Strava connected, finished activities arrive automatically, match themselves to the planned session, and feed the analysis — including lap-level block detection. Without it, you can log sessions manually or let Apple Health supply the workout.
Does it need an Apple Watch?
Not required. The Watch app gives you today's session on your wrist, live charts and structured workouts you can start from Exercise → Plans, and readiness gets much better with overnight HRV and sleep. But an iPhone plus any GPS watch that syncs to Strava is enough to train with Pacer.
How does the readiness score actually work?
Four inputs, each weighted and scored against your own rolling 30-day baseline: HRV (35), sleep duration and depth (30), resting heart rate (25) and yesterday's step load (10). Deviations are measured in standard deviations from your normal, so a 42 ms HRV is only a problem if 42 is low for you. A resting HR 15 bpm over baseline reads as illness and caps the day regardless of the rest. Every deduction is shown with its reason — nothing is a black box.
What happens to my health data?
HealthKit data is read on device and stays there; it is never uploaded to a third party. Your plan syncs through your own account so it survives a new phone, and nothing is sold, brokered or fed to an ad network. There are no analytics SDKs in the app.
When does the beta end, and what will it cost?
The beta runs until the adaptation engine has been through a full race cycle with enough runners — realistically a few months. Everything is unlocked while you're testing. When Pacer launches it'll be a subscription with a free trial, and beta testers keep founding-runner pricing.
Can I move a session, or skip a week?
Yes. Hold and drag any session to another day and the week re-balances around it. Skip a week entirely and the next adaptation softens the ramp rather than pretending it happened — that's the whole point of the loop.
Which languages and units are supported?
English and French, metric and imperial, °C and °F. Everything — including paces, splits and weather — follows your choice.
